CALENDAR OF CLASSES

15 Minutes of Flame: Intro to Performing as Yourself
Come play in what you have to say in this fun and ease-full Intro to Performance workshop. We'll pow-wow together in two half-day sessions of creative form-ing and culminate with an informal performance for family & friends. If you've ever longed to leap into freedom of expression in cozy public, this 3-part workshop is for YOU.

Material you come up with may be scripted or unscripted/improvised. Whichever is more fun! Summer memories, middle-of-the-night cravings, musings on speeders who use the right lane (are they thinking that those radar guns don't work in the "slow" lane?) come share what you live. Bring your ideas and/or discover them as we improvise together in the pre-performance sessions.

Dates for Intro to Performance Workshop:
Saturdays, August 9 & August 16, 1:00 - 5:00, and informal show for friends and family on Saturday, August 23 at 7pm.

Investment: Full commitment to an unleashed life. And $150 to contribute to Improv Sangha ;-)
Sliding scale (+/-) happily & truly available.

Improv and Emergent Play, for Everyone!

Come free up your innate spontaneity and drop self-criticism in favor of surprising creativity, true connection, and the joy of moving forward in a vibrant unknown.

Ann Swanberg and Chris Miller are seasoned teachers, life coaches, and improvisers who have taught and performed with Impulse Theatre, ImprovWorks, The Centre for Performance Studies, Bay Area TheatreSports, and the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. In 1999, Ann and Chris founded LifePlays, a company dedicated to bringing the transformative skills of connective improv to individuals, couples, and to innovative organizations such as Genentech, Google, Applied Materials, and the SYDA Foundation. They've coached a ton (well, actually, several tons) of people to unleash their innate creative capacity for life. And happily, there's no going back.

What some other folks has to say about lifeplays?

Words from people who've taken LifePlays:

"I am astounded by what I am finding is available to me internally and thank you so much for facilitating the incredible things that have emerged for me personally and for the group. You make taking the enormous risks necessary to move forward, extremely comfortable."
--Denise Gilbert

"The Yes-And exercises of improv have tangibly made a difference in creating an awareness among the staff that when you receive what comes to you with a yes-and attitude, the possibilities are endless. Thank you!"
--Monica Walsh, SYDA Foundation Training Coordinator

"I am well aware of how much of life I miss because I'm a planner -- I'm always thinking about what's next and how to prevent problems that don't even exist. Working with you is a gut-level, heart-level reminder of the joy that life holds everyday when I experience it in-the-moment, as it unfolds.
--Shelli Fried

"After attending your LifePlays workshop, I've finally given myself permission to really enjoy my life! I've launched my own personal whirlwind of hope, self-fulfillment, community-building, and FUN."
--Rachel Falk, PDI

"My usual tendency was to maintain control and shy away from situations outside my comfort zone. Now I'm better at trusting my ability to spontaneously deal with the unfamiliar. It's very empowering. With Improv, more than other creative processes, you experience it in your bones. After a lesson like that it's hard not to come away with it impacting the creative processes in all parts of your life. Thanks again for a wonderful, warm experience."
-- Chris Jones, Internet Product Designer

"We came away with a refreshed perspective of our love, trust and total commitment. We laughed and played and took some chances and WOW, we can't wait to do it again soon. Thank you for affecting our world for the day and for giving us Lifeplays tools that we can enjoy forever!"
--Aleta & Chris Niggeler
